Metrolina was a HUGE success!! November was the first show I've done and I had a ton of return customers that had come back JUST TO SEE IF I RETURNED! What a compliment! I never would have thought, (in a million years) that I would be busier in April than I was at the November show. I am very blessed to have the following I have after only one show, as well as how well I did in the show overall. Thank You to everyone who came out even though I was only there Friday - Sunday! Thank you Jesus!!!

Crisp Interiors... is a FABULOUS WEBSITE and BLOG that you have to check out! She is in North Carolina and I LOVE ALL HER STUFF!!! She's an inspiration to what I wish to achieve one day!!!

I was browsing blogs this morning as my precious little princess had speech therapy. And checking facebook updates when I stumbled upon Momma Hen asking if anybody liked linky parties or participated in them. I DO LoVE me some linky parties, however I have only participated in one due to my little shorties. And lack of time. However sweet little Momma Hen encouraged me to link up and I DID. I used the same one from my last link up party, but that's OK. I'm new to this and I notice alot of peeps link up to several parties. So that's what I'm going to do. The more the merrier right? DIY Family Name

K I am still new at this and just realized I needed to have a post about my DIY Family Name Project! Whoops! Ok here she goes...

I don't have any before pictures because I haven't gotten in that mind frame yet and this project was in the works for awhile. As I had the K-A-N but was still trying to come up with something creative for the H-E.

So here's a run down on each letter;

K- Purchased from Micheal's for around $2.29 I mod podged it with vintage music paper I had. Painted the edges black then distressed the top with Tim Holton's Distress Ink.

A- This is a Plate Stand that I've had laying around. It was a barn red color, so I grabbed a can of Chrome spray paint. I love to mix modern and vintage elements for a more interesting look. I love the way the A turned out, and I love that it is not actually an A. (Since it's cold outside right now I used a pizza box with newspaper underneath and a flattened cardboard box as a make shift Paint Booth! Since I only had a little spraying to do it didn't smell the house up and worked like a charm.)

H- I have several of these wooden plaques in different shapes that I bought from a garage sale for 50 cents each. You can purchase them at Micheal's or Hobby Lobby also. I chose the diamond shape and Mod Podged and distressed it the same way I did the K. For the Letter H I used my Cricut Machine to cut out the letter and Mod podged it on top.

N- For the N I purchased a house Letter from our local Habitat for Humanity store for $1.50. The only problem, it was gold. I went with Rust-oleum's Hammered Dark Bronze Spray Paint. Which looks dark gray and I LOVE!

E- This one took me awhile to come up with. I had an E that looked like the N but I'm going for eclectic here. So I looked for an interested Wooden E, something like the plate stand that maybe looked like an E, nothing was coming to me. Then I found these spoons at Value Village for 20 cents each. The large spoon is Silver and has an engraved K on it. IS THIS A SIGN?? I think so I brought them home and arranged them into an E on my kitchen table. But I didn't know how i would hang them. Should I glue them to a frame or a different shape wooden plaque??

So while dwelling over this days and days. Did I mention this project took me awhile or everything takes me awhile because I think to much. K well that's the case and my Husband LOVES this about me. HAHA One day I was wondering around Lowes thinking of all my projects and what it will take to finish them, when I came across command strips. Let's try these I thought. I might even be able to get everything straight. These are really my thoughts. 

They worked like magic this is how I hung everything. For the spoons I cut them to size so you won't be able to see them. On the little spoons I only needed to put a small chunk on the base. I kept the pull part so I can take them down without causing damage. I had to trim it also though. 

And there you have it. I took all the thinking out of this project for you. But I'm sure you all can come up with different variations of your own problems. And I would love to see and hear about them!! Until next time....

Ok Let's break it down shall we...

The Queen Size Bed (that is too small when you have 2 toddlers sneaking in in the middle of the night.) was a Metrolina find we got about 4 years ago. We got it on a Sunday, the dealer was not wanting to haul it home. So we stole it for $300 bucks!!!!

The Curtains are from Ikea, can't remember what I paid but did I say they were from IKEA. They have the velvet like texture I was drooling over in the Pottery Barn catalog. Only for 1/3 of the cost.

The Bench at the end of the bed is from Pottery Barn, only I bought it in an antique shop for $100.00 WITH the BASKETS!!!

The shelf on the left is a craigslist find. $199 baby. She is Fabulous!!! And to the right we have an antique school desk (garage sale score) $25

The wall sconces are from a consignment store marked down to $10 each.

I LOVE the way it turned out!!!

Above the bookshelf is an ode to our marriage. One of our engagement pictures and a carved wood annoucement of our wedding date. The angel wings were a tj maxx score $2.99 each. The silverplate urn was an estate sale score for $5 dollas!!! And an ode to paris (hoping I make it there one day!!!)

< I fell in love with this cute Wisteria shelf and when it went on sale for $40 I had to have it!!!
> So I'm pretty sure I am addicted to Books, but I'm ok with that. Shelf was a Habitat Score $10.

Did you notice my color coded book shelf. VERY PROUD of that FYI. The I DO an the top shelf is from our wedding. And if you have a really good eye you'll see that A the lamp on the dresser has no shade. (still searching for the perfect one) And B the cord is still wrapped in painters tape. :) WHOOPS!!! Lamp was a Goodwill Score $1.99.

The pictures on the wall are not perfectly straight I now realize. And the two people in the middle frame are the wonderful people that came with the frame. Still have to swap that out for a family photo.

My side of the room, just a stool as a side table. The chair in the corner was an estate sale find. $5 And is a temporary fix until I can find/afford the chair I REALLY want!

The two lamps are from Walmart actually. You never know what you can find it you look long enough.

I am so happy the room for now. Until we upgrade to a KING size.

The gold mirror is a Value Village score. $14.99!!!

Aggghhhhh!!!! for now! Nothing stays the same for too long around here!

Ok now here is the closet. I am planning on putting a curtain rod up and having a curtain that will cover this up when we have company. (That wants to come in our room) LOL

ummm, everyone wanted my rusty crusty display stand, which of coarse EVERYTHING is for sale right? For a price... I pulled this guy away from a vine that didn't want to let go... I won that battle.

I featured lots of roses, mainly because I just had bought a large quantity of stuff from an auction, an elderly lady who was part of the Rose Society. Don't know exactly what that is but these people love there ROSES!!!

This is my old Kitchen Cupboard that I've enjoyed for the last 5 years, I recently purchased a new one from an auction, and let this beauty go for 200 bucks!!! You will be missed Betty Lou!!

The PINKS paper in the back is actually an old hardware advertizment of a large seed packet. This one was in the worst shape, I eventually came to my senses after the first 2 days and brought a foam board and wrapped in to look like a LARGE SEED packet. They sold like HOTCAKES!!!!

Well Kendra and I have made it 4 days and have hauled 4 car loads and 3 trailer loads down to the big show (the advantages of living 20 minutes away). We contemplated how we were going to bring it all back in one car load and 1 trailer load. Should be interesting. I have had a blast and will absolutly be doing the April extravaganza!
I would be a wondering gypsy if I didn't have the short ones. As I walked around on one of my few chances to get away. I met all sorts of wonderful peeps, and they all seemed to have one piece of advise. GO TO TEXAS!!!! One gal even approached me and invited me to there show, because she thinks my jolie jonque would do well there. Well Merci!!! The strange thing was they all set up at different shows in the same area. And of coarse where they set up is the best spot. So I may have to do some investingating on where truly is the BEST cow pasture to set up at in TEXAS. However set up or not, come March I plan on hitchhiking to the Lone star State for some good ol' junking adventures.
Today I also managed to make a few purchases,
1) 8 floral (cameo like) center pieces
2) #7, #9 vintage numbers, a porcelien key hole, and an oversized safety pin
3) 10 misc. glass knobs and pulls
4) 4 large metal stackable baskets- FABULOUS!!!!
Well when I get a minute I will post some pics!!! Until then....

Hello my 5 fabulous friends who are following me. I think I am one of those actually. Whatever. So I have been busting my bootie since tuesday getting ready for THE EXTRAVAGANZA!!!! And oh what an extravaganza it is. I have taken a couple pics but I won't be able to post them anytime soon. I don't know where you all find the time to blog. I am working on this though.
I am fortunate enough to have my cousin here who came all the way from washington state to help me this week. What a dollface she is. And boy did I need her. BUSY BUSY BUSY we've been. I also had another fabuloso friend of mine there thurs/friday. I couldn't have made it this far without these angels.
Two more days of shear bliss, hopefully meet some new peeps and make some more benjamins! Amen. OK can't wait to post pics!!! Until then....

Does anyone else get as excited as I do, when looking at blogs. I love it. My brain is working on overdrive, and I can't decide what to do first. Aggghhhh!
If anyone is in the Lake Norman area, check out Downtown Mooresville. There will be an art walk and the fabulous start of La Petite Park on Broad St. There will be local artist and vendors, like me!!! I'll post pictures of it after. Please pray that we have a huge turnout and can create something FABULOUS for Mooresville and French Lovers!!! Tallulah's will be running La Petite Park, if you have any questions you can contact me and I would be happy to answer them. Oh it's FRIDAY Oct.8th from 6-9 pm. !

PROJECT SHED

Well, Well, Well I have 2 followers!!! Yeah, still don't know exactly what I'm doing, but do any of us. :) Ok I am going to try to add pictures of PROJECT SHED now... Let's see...

OHHHH, I did it. Ok so this is before, and since I am such a professional photographer this place looks kind of fun to hang out in. But I assure you, nothing inspiring about this shed. Just a dumping ground for all my JOLIE JONQUE. I started pressure washing to outside of the shed about 6 months ago, and got a little over half way done, yeah me!!! But that's where I stopped. So the other day my husband and I were hanging out outside with the kids and I got a SUPER GOOD idea to take EVERYTHING out of the shed and paint the whole inside with my super handy Wagner hand painter. I have 2 clearenced and discountined from Lowes. Gotta love a deal. I've only used them once to seal coat the picnic table that I also got clearenced at Lowes, along with about 50 gallons of oops paint that I no longer want and can't throw away. (That's a whole nother blog or fight with my hubby :)) SO here is what my yard looked like after I hauled EVERYTHING out of PROJECT SHED...

I am having trouble getting these pics where I want them... grrrrr!

So as you can see I created alot of work for myself, I also relized that I have WAY too many projects that I never get around to doing. Like framed pictures that I want just the frame, I need to come home and take the ugly picture out, paint the frame and either put a new pretty picture in or slap some chicken wire on the back for display frames, or make chalk boards, ect. ect.
THATS WHAT I SHOULD DO... but I don't I just let all these great ideas add up and this is what your left with. A TON OF WORK. What's inspiring about that. I have enough to do with just the daily happenings of life, why do I make everything harder than it should be... Well because I'm REALLY GOOD at it I guess.

So everything is out now, let's start PAINTING... Oh it's really dirty and dusty in there. So I get a the shop vac out and start vaccuming up the dirt. Shouldn't take too long, right? WRONG! I had to get out a stiff wire brush to unstick the years of acumulated grime, then shop vac it up. Now I should have done a thuro job with this task, but would take me FOREVER, and I have NO PATIENTS! Upon scrubbing various parts of the shed I scrubed a little spot on the concrete. And TO MY SURPRIZE, the floor was WHITE concrete, not BLACK. So I come up with another FANTASTIC IDEA... yes another... Why don't I just get the pressure washer and pressure wash the whole inside of the shed, walls and all. So I tell my husband that's what I'm doing. "great, go for it" he says.

So that's exactly what I did. It was working like CHARM. Then I relized that there was no place for the water to go. WHAT NOW, do I have to wait for the water to dry or brush it out the door with a broom???? Uggghhhh! Just then the light bulb went off in the old brain of mine. SHOPVAC, please be a wet/dry vac, ayhah it is. SO I ask my husband to turn the power off to the shed please and plugged to shop vac into the outlet on the back porch, and started a sucking up the filthy water that was hanging out on the floor. I knew it was full when water started to sputter out the blow hole of the thing. So I turned it off and carried the bottom of the shopvac out into the yard, where the drain from the gutters empty. (not to self; when switching from dry vac to wet vac, empty the dry contents into the garbage FIRST, and take out the filter. Not sure if that is manditory but I'm pretty sure I ruined ours :) ) Now there is nails and dirt and god know what else in the yard, right where the kids play. WONDERFUL. (note to self; clean that up later) Gotta keep going, back to pressure washing, the sucking up water, then more pressure washing... You get the idea. In the meantime my FABULOUS IN LAWS had come to pick up the kids, so we could get some work done outside. (it was a saturday and my husband is usually traveling on weekends for work, this weekend he didn't have to leave until Sunday morning!!!) After the inlaws and kids left I looked around and NO HUSBAND.... HMMMM I came inside to my husband watching racing. SHOCKER. "Could you come help me please.... (SMILING) honey buns?" "yeah I was just..." yeah yeah yeah

K I was already filthy so I had him be the sucker upper of water. K long story short. Husband dumped the water right out side the door, I hauled the load to the yard. Husband left the plug in the water, I took the whole shop vac out of the shed while I was pressure washing and made sure the plug never touched the water. No we didn't get electricuted thank GOD, but it did surge the breaker to the outside plug of the house. YEAH!!!!

Alright I didn't take any after pressure washing pics, wonder why... but I did take pics after I emptied my side of the shed out. Husband gets a corner sections, for know. :) And I also found one more before

So onto painting... I break out my automatic sprayer. This should take NO TIME AT ALL!!! I load the first sprayer up with paint and HERE WE GO... Crap its not working. Husband says,"You probably didn't clean it good enough that last time you used it." Double Crap. So he kindly started cleaning that one out 'THE RIGHT WAY" and I loaded up the other one. The other one that hadn't been used yet. BTW. It DOESN'T work either. GRRRRRR!!! It's been quite a day.... So I clean that one out with hubby and try the one he cleaned out this time I diluted the paint a little bit with water. STILL didn't work. SO FRUSTERATED!!! Long story short, I later learned that you have to really thin out your paint, with these LEMONS!!!

So the next day I started to paint BY HAND. Now juggling trying to watch to kids, weekday life, and getting this done. Was SUPER FUN. What in my mind was going to take a sunny saturday afternoon, took A WEEK AND A HALF!!!! (SMILE) And that was only ONE COAT. And that's how its staying. For now.... Here's what it looked like after all that...

Now oviously it is a work in progress. I have LOT of IDEAS.... Stay Tuned....

NEW to the blogging world

It took me awhile to decide to start blogging. And I'm not even sure I have the time, but here we go!!!
I live in the Lake Norman Area of North Carolina. And while we are blessed to have Metrolina, which honestly is the only real flea/antique market I have been to. The word around town is it's a pretty good one.

However I'm not satisfied, I see all these other blogs and websites that have AMAZING markets and sales. Off the top of my head;
